Light rail could be the future of Fraser Valley transportation. CIVL spoke with John Visser, a well-known local community activist. In the last part of a two-part interview, the need for light rail in the Fraser Valley as an alternative method of transportation was discussed. John spoke of the infrastructure needed for light rail in the Fraser Valley already being in place. He said the only thing missing is political resolve. Light rail is not only better for the environment, but it would also save the consumer of the Fraser Valley money in the long run by making insurance more affordable. John says the local government should focus less on highway construction, and more on the light rail. He says it would allow the BC government to meet its climate change targets very easily.
