In what might be the first request of its kind in the province, Dayi Clayton Pountney of Lheidli T'enneh and Chief Harley Chingee of Mcleod Lake Indian Band recently requested SD57 (Prince George) school board to allow for two new seats, which would be reserved for members of the Indigenous communities.

Listen to the below interview to hear Dayi Pountney talk about why Indigenous perspectives are important, what Indigenous education looks like and what he hopes to come from acquiring representation on the school board.
