The Inter Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) announced it is now accepting applications for its 2021 Diversity Scholarships. The scholarships are available for high school, undergraduate and graduate level students.

The ICA’s Diversity Scholarships were created to recognize the potential of students from diverse and/or immigrant backgrounds in the Capital Region. The scholarships are targeted towards students who exemplify strong community values pertaining to diversity, equity and inclusion in their academic and community work.

Two scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student who are actively attending college or university in the Capital Region. One scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to one high school student (who will graduate in the class of 2021). Applications are due by June 11 and the winners will be announced by August.

“ICA’s scholarships are an investment in the cultural diversity and well-being of the Capital Region,” says Jean McRae, ICA chief executive officer. “In the face of increased racism, ICA is steadfastly committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive communities where people from all walks of life feel a strong sense of belonging. Supporting the educational goals of students committed to diversity is one way we can build this kind of community.”
