Ground penetrating radar research is taking place at of University nuhelot'įne thaiyots'į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills on the formal residential school grounds to search for unmarked graves. The search started on Aug. 9 and will be conducted over the course of five days.
Dr. Kisha Supernant, director of the Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archeology at the University of Alberta, is leading the search which is being funded by the Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.
