Green Party of Canada interim leader Amita Kuttner tours West Coast communities

Dr. Amita Kuttner, interim leader of the national Green Party, began their Reconnection Tour on the West Coast this week, which began in Sidney on April 19. The tour continued to Victoria, Courtenay, Powell River, Campbell River, Duncan, Nanaimo and will finish this week on Salt Spring Island and North Vancouver. 

On the tour Dr. Kuttner says residents have indicated water and food security at the top of their list of concerns, along with climate change.  

Dr. Kuttner was appointed Interim Leader of the Green Party on November 24, 2021, becoming the youngest, the first trans person and the first person of east Asian descent to lead a major Canadian political party.

With a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics, Dr. Kuttner has researched black holes, wormholes, quantum effects, and the early universe.
