Deanna Cadman is a grandmother and great-grandmother who loves to cook and bake with the little ones in her family.

She says that since her children and their children were young, they were right next to her baking holiday treats.

Her tried and true recipes are now available online, on her Facebook video series “Grannie D’s.”

Cadman says she started her online cooking classes to connect with her grandkids, and families all over, with food.

“[The classes] would help parents and kids with some basic baking things that I’ve heard over the years,” she says.

One of her videos features her homemade biscuits, which she says were very popular with her fans.

“They’re made with 7-Up. There’s no sugar and milk in them. They’re nice and fluffy and very, very easy recipe to make,” says Cadman. “A lot of people texted me to say thank you and they’ve never been able to make biscuits.”

Cadman has been separated from most of her grandchildren due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including a grandson in the military she hasn’t seen in over a year.

Her grandkids still call her, she says, to get her recipes.

Cadman still has five years left as the Town of Sackville’s Program and Special Events Coordinator, and she plans to continue her cooking series until then.

She also welcomes all to email her with recipe requests and gave CHMA a sneak peek at her next video (it’s cinnamon rolls).
