Angélique Lalonde is a B.C. writer whose work has been featured in PRISM International, the Journey Prize Anthology, Room and the Malahat Review, among other publications.

She received the 2019 Writers' Trust Journey Prize and was nominated for a National Magazine Award. She was awarded an Emerging Writer's residency at the Banff Centre.

She lives on Gitxsan Territory in Northern B.C. and holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Victoria.

In July of 2021, the Scotia Bank Giller Prize long-list of "best fiction in Canada" was announced with Lalonde's name included.

Her book is a series of four short stories called Glorious, Frazzled Beings and it is a beguiling story collection, a love song to the homes we make, keep and break.

CICK News spoke to Lalonde about how life in the north dictates her characters' decisions and perspectives as well as good book recommendations for "nesting season."
