Flood warnings and Wildfire evacuation alerts have been popping up all over B.C. In the northwest several communities have been issued flood alerts, but no evacuation orders have followed.

With dry conditions expected to continue for the season, and the hot El Niño front moving up the Pacific Coast, flood watches and wildfire alerts are expected to continue as well and it only May.

David Campbell wit the BC River Forecast Centre says the rapid melt due to warm weather, has pushed rivers to the brink.

"The warming trend has continued and rivers are nearing capacity," said Campbell. "There are a number of alerts in place and we'll continue to watch the rivers as we head into a hotter than usual May."
