Sherri Mariash and her partner live off-the-grid in Old Arrow Park, an on-demand ferry ride away from Highway 6. They moved to the property three years ago from Revelstoke, where they'd live for about five years.

Mariash is a clinical herbologist. She grows herbs and forages from the forest, and distills the plants to make tinctures for common ailments. She also makes skin care products.

Recently Mariash held a weekend workshop on her property for people to learn with her how to work with plants.
