The city of Revelstoke announced in a press release Friday that Evan Parliament is staying on as the Chief Administrative Officer.

An employment agreement was ratified for parliament during a special council meeting on Feb. 9.

In the release, Parliament said he's pleased to be invited to work with the new council and the people of Revelstoke.

"Local government is in the people business and all of City staff look forward to serving
you to make Revelstoke the best it can be." He said.

He's been doing the job since August and has 30 years of experience working in city governments in B.C. and Alberta. He came to Revelstoke from a position in Sicamous.

Mayor Gary Sulz said in the release he's delighted about the stability this hire will bring to the city's management team.

Revelstoke has been through a revolving door of permanent and interim CAOs since 2018, as reported by the Revelstoke Mountaineer.

Parliament has already committed to improve communication between the city and public, and improve the snow removal policies.
