Affording the basic tools for school can be tough. Some families face financial struggles and an initiative in Edmonton is hoping to help.

Edmonton Public Schools Foundation launched its Chromebooks for Kids Campaign on Oct. 20 in partnership with Epcor’s Heart + Soul Fund, which is matching up to $25,000 in donations to purchase Chromebooks.

Edmonton Public Schools Foundation’s director is Kyla Amrhein. She is excited the EPCOR, Heart+Soul Fund, as well an individual donor, were able to step up and provide donations to go towards Chromebooks for families and students.

Last year’s campaign saw a total of 567 Chromebooks gifted to students.

The goal of the campaign this year is to raise $100,000.
