Flora Munroe, on the board of the Western Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society and the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users, speaks about her organizations' official complaint with Pivot Legal Society filed against the Vancouver Police Dept.'s new "street disorder" response team.
When she first heard about the new VPD unit for so-called "low-priority" as they called them, her first reaction was "Oh my effin' God."
"What kind of B.S. unit is this?!" she told The Pulse on CFRO, saying it would almost certainly target homeless, Indigenous and racialized people, especially community members who use drugs.
