The annual event Craft Corral is returning to the Gorge Gazebo this November.

The event is organized by Kim Marks, a local artist and tattooist. Marks started the event last year because she wanted to sell her art in an outdoor environment.

“I was intimidated about being in a room full of people, so I wanted to do it outside mostly because I feel better outside.”

Craft Corral is located under a gazebo on the Gorge Marina campgrounds, surrounded by an open grassy area. Shoppers will have a variety of items to peruse including copper electroforming products, botanical creations, sheepskins, potions and crystals, art cards, knitted works, jewelry, dolls and food.

The nature-set, music-backed scene differs from the other craft fairs hosted this time of the year on Cortes Island. The live music entertainment will include Kyle and Friends performing mostly instrumental compositions. The intention is to offer a gentler scene, with less risk of sensory overload.

The Craft Corral is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 and is free to attend and Marks encourages all ages to stop by.

“Bring your money, empty your wallets. You are gonna wanna be there…Rain or shine,” Marks said.
