Prince Edward County council approved of preliminary plans for the development of a Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste depot at the South Marysburgh Landfill site on Thursday, Aug.18.

This Quinte Waste Solutions site will offer a permanent location to regularly drop off hazardous waste, as compared to the limited mobile programs currently serving the County (which only 9 per cent of residents utilize).

Quinte Waste Solutions believes that this consistent site will capture more of the county’s hazardous material and prevent it from ending up in landfills or roadsides.
