Council unanimously agrees to attempt to cut next budget by $3 million

Last week, Prince Edward County's Committee of the Whole unanimously agreed to a resolution for exploring how to reduce the county’s next operating budget by 10 per cent, or $3 million, compared to this year’s budget which saw the tax levy increase by roughly 5 per cent.

The resolution calls for options that “focus on technological modernization, process improvements and other forms of creative solutions that minimize impact to current service delivery,” in order to meet its intended reductions.
