The town of Rockwood will soon have a new child care and EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

Wellington Catholic District School board, along with Wellington County, have teamed up to bring a new licensed child care centre and EarlyON Child and Family Centre at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rockwood. The Government of Ontario is investing in the project that will see a new stand-alone child care centre that accommodates 49 children under the age of four.

"The project supports the government’s child care plan, which focuses on making child care more affordable, creating more choice and availability for families, reducing red tape and administrative burden, improving quality, and delivering high standards of care," Wellington Catholic District School Board said in a statement.

Now, the Wellington Catholic District School Board is looking for builders and is targeting an opening date for the new centre this fall.
