On Thursday October 12th a group of seven Six Nations community members attended the Six Nations Police Station to address concerns about a video that was shared on Wednesday afternoon on social media. The video shows an incident where allegedly, a Six Nations Police officer is seen striking a minor multiple times who at that time already appeared to be detained.
The video, which has been viewed by CKRZ News staff, is no longer viewable on social media.
The gathering of community members was also being recorded and broadcast on Facebook live to enable community members, such as parents and relatives of the minor, to raise their concerns. The video shows immediate family going into the Six Nations police station to file the complaint.
Six Nations Police officer deputy chief Tim Bomberry informed the community members to file a formal complaint, and the proper procedures will be followed.
