The 15th annual Columbia Basin Culture Tour is back in the Kootenays this weekend and, with over 110 venues, this year’s event is bigger than ever before.

Funded by Columbia Basin Trust and managed by the West Kootenay Arts Council, the event provides local artists an opportunity to showcase their work and gives the public a look into the lives and studios of artists.

To get an idea of what the culture tour is about, CJLY spoke with the Vice-President of the West Kootenay Arts Council Peter Vogelaar, as well as three artists who will be participating: Kristine McGuinty of Gray Creek; Carol Retzlaff of Glade; and Lars Baggenstos of Ymir all shared their thoughts on the culture tour and discussed the art they’ll have on display.

The event runs this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
