Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) say they were unaware of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) conducting an undisclosed meeting within the Six Nations community today.

In a media release today, SNEC says the time, location and subject matter of any meeting that the CBSA is conducting was not disclosed to the Six Nations community or the SNEC. They expect federal officials on site; council says they are hopeful that the full information regarding the meeting will be made available at the earliest opportunity.

CBSA's website states the following: "CBSA facilitates the flow of legitimate travellers and trade. The agency also enforces more than 100 acts and regulations that keep our country and Canadians safe."

Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill made comment via the Nov. 15 media release.

"Six Nations values our togetherness and cohesion as a people," she stated. "The unity of our whole community is of the highest priority for our newly elected council."

No further update was provided and CJKS will be following for more updates.
