With the Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac annual general meeting approaching on Monday (March 28), CHIP 101.9 spoke with Director General Stéphane Labine about their past year.

Labine explained that at the AGM, which will take place virtually at 6:30 p.m., members would be looking over the year’s results as well as voting on their patronage allocation, the dividend that they receive annually. He said that due to the year’s success, the amount would be increasing.

Labine, who has been with the Caisse since the late 1990s, said that he’s never seen the kind of financial growth like the last two years. He added that they had added more than 100 members to the organization, bringing their total membership to more than 6,200.

He also touched on the move to their new location at 243 rue Hérault, which will be constructed a short distance from their current spot. He said that the project is progressing on schedule. The demolition of the old garage that was sitting on the site has been completed and now they are waiting for tenders from their suppliers to start construction. He estimated that the new building would be completed by the end of the year or early 2023.

Members who wish to participate in the virtual AGM should have received an invitation email, but if that’s not the case, they can go to the Caisse’s website
