At the council meeting on Oct. 30, Brigil Construction presented a plan to La Nation Municipality to build high rise residential towers just off Highway 417 on Calypso Road.
La Nation Mayor Francis Briere said the plan is to build three towers of about 24 stories each, a hotel, and some commercial space. Briere hoped the commercial space would include a grocery store, which Limoges currently does not have. The mostly residential space, which will all be rental apartments, would double the population of the small village and may even triple it over time.
Brigil has owned the property for many years but a lack of water has hampered growth in the village, according to officials. About a year and a half ago, Limoges got a boost to its water supply when a distribution pipe from the Township of Clarence Rockland was installed.
