The Dufferin neighborhood in Brantford has found a way to get its residents involved in the holiday season with inflatable Santas on display at more than 120 houses within the neighborhood.
Dufferin residents Ashley Penrice and Rachel Gagnon say originally the idea was for about a dozen Santas to be displayed throughout the neighborhood. But it quickly gained popularity and more and more households are joining in on the fun. Penrice said that she and Gagnon had seen Santas popping up in neighborhoods in Nova Scotia and Toronto which influenced them to get the displays in their area as well.
The pair say that it has been nice to see the idea gain momentum and able to garner attention from schools and visitors to come through the area to see all the displays. Penrice says it has been fun seeing the neighborhood promote the holiday season and bringing joy to all the children and visitors that the Santa's have brought to the area.
