BC COVID-19 cases rise by 617 in one day

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed that the total COVID-19 cases in the province now stand at 20,985 with 167 hospitalizations. The CDC made the announcement in a press release on on Friday.

Of the total number of diagnosed cases, 20,698 were diagnosed in the laboratory, 50 are in ICU, 14,901 have recovered and 290 have been confirmed dead.

The update revealed that new cases now stand at 617 while active cases are 5,579. The total number of new tests stand at 9,480 out of an overall of 955,239.

The website also stated that on Vancouver Island, there were 16 new cases and 67 active cases. In all, there were 340 total cases: 334 were laboratory diagnosed while six were Epi-linked.

There’s no one in the hospital, two cases are in the ICU, there have been six deaths so far and 267 have recovered from the deadly virus.

And the total number of new tests was 826 out of an overall of 110,223.
