The Premier of British Columbia is calling on the federal government to adopt a "pan-Canadian approach" to non-essential travel.  John Horgan says he'll be pressing the Prime Minister to deliver the same message across the country that BC has been telling its residents:  namely, to limit themselves to essential travel only.

The Premier says he will also be pushing Transport Canada for an exemption that would allow people travelling on BC Ferries to remain in their vehicles.  Horgan says that would help limit passengers from mingling during sailings.

On Vancouver Island, health officials are calling for more travel-related restrictions in an effort to keep explosive COVID-19 case counts in Vancouver and its suburbs from spilling over.  Island Health's chief medical officer, Dr. Richard Stanwick wants a two week quarantine for anyone arriving on Vancouver Island.  The Premier says he's not sure if he'd support a quarantine and will leave that decision up to the province's medical health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry.
