How an Abbotsford City Councilor has a close relationship with the South Asian community. Les Barkman, Abbotsford City Councilor, shared with CIVL his connection with the South Asian Community. When asked how his relationship is with the South Asian Community, Mr. Barkman said," I actually have a really good story on that one. About three years ago, I had a young South Asian gentleman who asked if I would take him to his grad, and I said I would love too. He adds," I got to know him though the Abbotsford Youth Commission and every City Councilor teamed up with the Youth Commission... It ended up being a relationship more than I expected."
