Rodney Nichols has been taken into custody and will be extradited to Canada soon to stand trial for the murder of Jewell Parchman Langford, the "Nation River Lady."

Nichols is an 81-year-old resident of the North Lake Retirement Home in Hollywood, Florida,

Langford's body was found in the South Nation River near Casselman in 1975 and remained unidentified until 2021 when DNA technology helped crack the cold case. OPP Sergeant Bill Dickson provided CJRO with a short update on the case. Dickson worked on the "Nation River Lady" case for 20 years and is pleased that the family finally has closure and the knowledge of what happened to their missing relative.
