Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation was electric on July 1 as the Nakota Strong Music Festival took place, with entertainment and food, bringing a community closer together.
One of the many who attended the event was Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation Chief Tony Alexis. The chief said that the idea was first brought up by council member Hank Alexis to bring in performers from across Canada and the United States to perform at the festival.
Tony says that the staff who helped set up the event were up late the night before with preparations and that they were proud to be a part of the music festival.
The chief says that this event provided the opportunity for those in the community to showcase their talents on stage and to be celebrated.
