Abandoned car leads to increased police presence, OPP forensic unit to conduct investigation

An abandoned car that was found on Six Nations last week will result in an increased police presence on the Six Nations territory until further notice.

The vehicle was reported to SN Police on June 27 on 4th Line Road. west of Mohawk Road. In a media release, police advised that there were no safety concerns for the Six Nations community or the surrounding areas at this time.

Few details were provided but police did say that an investigation will be conducted by both SN Police and the Ontario Provincial Police's (OPP) Forensic Identification Unit.

In an emailed statement to CJKS, SN Police confirmed "there was nothing suspicious in relation to the investigation and there will be no further media releases pertaining to it."
