A 57-year-old man is dead after an ATV crash on the Trans Canada Highway about two kilometres west of Clarenville. RCMP received a report of the crash at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. Cpl Jolene Garland says an ATV traveling along the side of the TCH, behind the guard rail, rolled down over an embankment. The operator of the ATV was uninjured and the passenger, a 57-year-old man, died at the scene. Both individuals were working at the time of the crash. Garland says the investigation is continuing with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Provincial Occupational Health and Safety.

Cpl Garland says lanes are reduced in collision areas to give investigators a chance to do their job.
