The Town of Sackville released details this week about the planned amalgamation of Sackville with other surrounding communities.
The new entity, which is being called Entity 40 pending the choice of a name, will use a ward system to elect councillors.
The entity's council will have eight councillors and one mayor.
At least four of the councillors will be from within the current town of Sackville's boundary.
The maps for those wards have yet to be decided, but that decision is expected to be made by March 4.
Those are some of the decisions announced this week after provincially-appointed facilitator Chad Peters met with an advisory committee of eight local representatives.
On Thursday, Erica Butler spoke with Sackville Mayor Shawn Mesheau, a member of the advisory committee.
She asked him about the decision to set aside representation by population in favour of more representation for rural areas in the new Entity 40. Here’s part of their conversation.
