André Fortin, MNA for Pontiac, is "disappointed" by the government of Quebec's decision to change the alert level of the MRC Pontiac to a red zone to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Pontiac, which was the only territory of the Outaouais still in the orange zone, will be a red zone from Dec. 17 until Jan. 11. According to Fortin, the government has not yet given the reasons for this change and spent the last week intervening so that the MRC Pontiac can remain in orange.

The MNA believes that it is a "blanket solution" by the province.

Fortin asks people to respect public health rules despite growing frustration in the community:

Warden of the MRC Pontiac Jane Toller said she was surprised by the decision and mentioned that she was not consulted on this decision.

Currently, as of Dec. 17, the Pontiac has five or fewer active cases of COVID-19.
