The Tkaronto Music Festival (TKMF) is celebrating National Indigenous month with four day’s of live music! The name “Tkaronto” is from the Mohawk language meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The festival is calling it a sort of hometown debut featuring Indigenous performers. Hailed as a pioneer model in high level streaming of music, the TKMF continues its legacy as the premier Indigenous-focused music festival. From June 21 to June 24th, an impressive line up of celebrated Indigenous artists will take to two stages in Toronto at the Stacked Market Place located at 28 Bathurst St.

Festival Promotional and Marketing Assistant January Rogers says, “The festival is the brain child of the "50/50 Performing Artists Collective", which was formed to produce Indigenous arts events and grow audiences. From a press release, the TKMF festival Producer Cynthia Lickers-Sage says, “By giving artists a platform where they can attract a large audience while providing a top-shelf experience to concert goers, we hope that everyone leaves Tkaronto Music Festival with the same sense of celebration and pride we have for the performers we present.”

This years line up includes, Susan Aglukark, Nimkii Osawamick, Plex, TheRa11n, Amanda Rheaume, Semiah Smith from Six Nations, DRMNGNOW, Julian Taylor and more.
