Canmore is getting ready to celebrate the winter weather with the return of the annual Winter Carnival this month.
Lauren Thomas, events coordinator with Arts and Events at the Town of Canmore, said that she and the entire town are excited for the festival to kick off.
"We're really excited to welcome everybody back to Winter Carnival and to really make this year special," she said.
This year's festival is the first since 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To make this year's event stand out, Thomas said there's lots of new things for the people of Canmore to check out.
The biggest, newest event at the festival is the all-ages Party in the Park on Friday, Feb. 24. It will feature performances from local acts like the Papa Bears, the Pine Tree Players, Bluebird Goldfinch and Entangled Puppetry.
Regular events like the Kid and Mutt Races, Pooch Parade and Carnival Cabaret are returning, and Thomas says she's "so excited to get back to in-person programming," for this year's Winter Carnival.
Further information on the festival, which runs Feb. 24-26, can be found at the town's website.
