Potterer Mary Clare Preston held a successful collaborative open house and sale at her Foxglove Pottery studio in Mansons Landing, BC.
She welcomed the public over two Saturdays (Dec. 10th and 17th) to appreciate and purchase the work on display, including that of two guest artists — stone carver Donna Naven and fine woodworker Hannu Huuskonen.
Preston, who describes her creative process as meditation, said, "It felt really encouraging to see that there's a place for another studio on the island and maybe some openings to explore other kinds of partnerships in a studio space."
She transformed the space from a working studio to a showroom for the opening and is considering having regular public hours in the future, for example Sundays during the summer tourist season.
