Ontario Lieutenant Governor presides as Prince Edward County council begins new term

Prince Edward County Council held its ceremonial inaugural meeting for the 2022-2026 term at the Regent Theatre in Picton on Monday.

Amongst the council-elect where many visiting dignitaries from all levels of government, neighboring municipalities and Canadian Forces Base Trenton, including Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell, At the ceremony, Dowdeswell opened the evening with words of wisdom regarding the importance of municipal government.

Once council was sworn-in, Mayor Steve Ferguson took to addressing municipal priorities for the next four-year term.
