The Athabasca Tribal Council’s (ATC) Cultural Festival is returning to Fort McMurray after two years away due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cultural festival, which started in 2019, is a four day event that showcases and celebrates Indigenous arts and culture, including musical entertainment, and is open to everyone.
CFWE sat down with Elana Gould, director of education, culture and language at ATC, and she said that there is a feeling of excitement from the community about having the festival back. She also shared what the city of Fort McMurray can expect at this year’s event.
CFWE will be broadcasting live from Syne Point Park on Sept. 8 from 2-6 p.m.
