On Tuesday (June 14th) representatives from the developer Kaitlin Corporation were on site at the nearby Karlo Estates Winery to unveil the immediate next steps for their 1100 home Cork & Vine residential development. This will include a 178 unit first phase of townhouses that are projected to be ready in the first quarter of 2024.

Kaitlin president Bill Daniell also highlighted his company's commitment to stay in communities for the long term as a development partner. He also touted that Kaitlin has always tried to respond to the needs of communities, and described partnerships which included major retail stores, transportation infrastructure, schools, and healthcare in the past developments.

When asked about the development’s impacts on Prince Edward County’s freshwater supply, Devon Daniell, Director of Business Development at Kaitlin, responded that his company has committed to pay development charges to upgrade the local water and wastewater infrastructure capacity.

Kaitlin Corporation originally purchased the development land in June 2006, and had originally planned it as a golf lifestyle community with Club Link. As well, the Kaitlin plans to build more affordable housing options in the Fields of Wellington property in the near future.
