Closer to home, at the Tantramar River, plans have been released proposing a possible new dam structure across the mouth, to protect the Chignecto Isthmus from the threat of sea level rise. It\u2019s a perfect time to reflect on the history of the tidal marsh, and the structures that humans have used to change them over the centuries.<\/p>\n<p>The Tantramar Heritage Trust and Tidewater Books are teaming up tonight to offer Sackvillians a glimpse into that history with environmental historian Ronald Rudin, the author of Against the Tides: Reshaping Landscape and Community in Canada's Maritime Marshlands.
