kih\u00eaw waciston (\u201cEagles Nest in Cree\u201d); hosted Indigenous performers from the United States and Canada at MacEwan University on May 25. The event was a part of a month-long celebration of Indigenous culture leading up to National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.<\/p>\n

There were performances by JUNO award winner Fawn Wood, Spur Pourier, Gunner Jules and Natanni Means.<\/p>\n

The master of ceremonies for the event was local comedian Grey Eagle Cardinal who said that he had never seen so much talent.<\/p>\n

Indigenous languages were used during performances by Spur Pourier and Fawn Wood. Cardinal says that it\u2019s a beautiful thing to see, and that it helps support and showcase the culture.<\/p>\n

Indigenous rapper from the U.S Nataani Means said that the event showcased performers from across Turtle Island - which refers to the Indigenous culture that Indigenous peoples from Canada and the United States share.<\/p>\n
