{"id":97741,"date":"2022-05-31T10:53:06","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T14:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=97741"},"modified":"2022-05-31T10:53:06","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T14:53:06","slug":"tourism-kingston-celebrating-all-related-sectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/tourism-kingston-celebrating-all-related-sectors\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourism Kingston celebrating all related sectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tourism Kingston is highlighting all the sectors involved during tourism awareness week, including hospitality, film, visitor information services, travel trades, sport and wellness. <\/span>The week kicked off with an adventure race with front-line workers making stops around downtown Kingston.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cEvery day we\u2019re creating a micro campaign to make sure we\u2019re clarifying, communicating and celebrating these six sectors, as opposed to a general statement that tourism is important,\" Executive Director Megan Knott says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Knott says tourism in Kingston isn\u2019t just seasonal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSome destinations are specific on time of year, around a certain event, I think Kingston\u2019s different\u2026there\u2019s always something to see and do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the city of Kingston, tourism has a $533 million economic impact per year, and makes up nearly 10 per cent of Kingston\u2019s workforce, supplying 15 thousand jobs.
