{"id":97728,"date":"2022-06-01T01:06:33","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T05:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=97728"},"modified":"2022-06-01T01:06:33","modified_gmt":"2022-06-01T05:06:33","slug":"clam-group-launches-in-mansons-landing-brings-community-together-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/clam-group-launches-in-mansons-landing-brings-community-together-again\/","title":{"rendered":"CLAM group launches in Mansons Landing, brings community together again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The energy to bring people back together on Cortes Island is taking a hold in Mansons Landing, with a new community group emerging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cora Moret said a recent community survey showed a renewed demand for social gatherings. The Southern Cortes Community Association (SCCA) conducted the survey, since the organization owns and coordinates events for Mansons Hall. In response to the demand, \"CLAM\" was formed. CLAM stands for \u201cCommunity-Led at Mansons,\u201d and Moret,\u00a0 a leading member of the group, explains it was called that because \u201cthat was the nicest sounding acronym, but really it's just about creating more opportunity for people to throw events so that we can get together and enjoy things and experience things and gather at Mansons Hall, specifically.\u201d The SCCA is not officially associated with CLAM, hence the name \"Community-Led\u2026\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CLAM spearheaded two recent events at Mansons Hall.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> In March, the community group hosted an outdoor concert and art show, with five-mushroom chili at the concession. Since then, CLAM has begun focusing on Tuesday nights to host a movie night or workshop at Mansons Hall <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is planning an upcoming workshop, which will be advertised on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cortesisland.com\/cgi-bin\/tideline\/show_home.cgi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tideline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur community is packed with talent and ideas and let's have them. Let's bring them out. We'd love to help you do that.
