BC health officials announced\u00a0139 new cases of COVID on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020<\/a>, at which point there were 42 people in hospitals and 14 of these receiving critical care. The number of confirmed cases among members of the\u00a0Tla\u2019amin Nation<\/a>, who attended a\u00a0funeral and wake in Powell River<\/a>, has\u00a0risen to seven<\/a>. The number of COVID-19 cases in North Vancouver Island is much lower.<\/p>\n

Cases in North Vancouver Island<\/h2>\n

While there have been\u00a0nine new cases on Vancouver Island<\/a>, in the week since Sept. 3, only one of these is from the area north from Courtenay. There isn\u2019t a single COVID-19 patient in any hospital on Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n

The last report specific to the greater\u00a0Campbell River<\/a>\u00a0area, which includes\u00a0Cortes<\/a>,\u00a0Quadra<\/a>\u00a0and the rest of the Discovery Islands, is for confirmed\u00a0cases up until July 31 of this year<\/a>.
