Photo by Greg Osoba.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Hall says this year's beach cleanup was particularly significant as it was held on Mother's Day and it was sponsored by 10,000 Whales. Cortes Creations owner Leslie Mack-Mumford created <a href=\"https:\/\/cortesradio.ca\/leslie-mack-mumford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10,000 Whales,<\/a> a first time sponsor of the beach clean up event, when her sons witnessed a high school presentation aimed at engaging young people in marine conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Hall also thanks the federal government for special programs during COVID-19, which supported tourism operators to keep their workers employed by having them collect debris off beaches and from waters up and down the BC coast.
