Organizer Will Armitage said that they pared down the size and length of the tournament this year to 18 teams across two divisions. He said that organizing went fairly smoothly, though they didn\u2019t seek out sponsors from the community like the typically do.<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-89867-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Clip-Will-Armitage-Elbows-organizing.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Clip-Will-Armitage-Elbows-organizing.mp3\">https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Clip-Will-Armitage-Elbows-organizing.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>He said that they had quite a few volunteers working behind the scenes to make sure everything went according to schedule. Like years past, the Shawville Lions operated the bar in their hall on the arena\u2019s upper floor.<\/p>\n<p>Typically the tournament proceeds have gone toward upgrades to the arena, such as the new score clock. Armitage said that this year they were raising money for members of the local hockey community: the family of Guillaume Breton, a young father who died in a\u00a0<a class=\"spip_site\" href=\"http:\/\/chipfm.com\/Man-struck-and-killed-outside-Quyon\">vehicle collision<\/a>\u00a0on March 19.
