{"id":85655,"date":"2022-03-09T15:32:42","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T20:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=85655"},"modified":"2022-03-09T15:32:42","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T20:32:42","slug":"cortes-museums-upcoming-agm-to-be-a-special-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/cortes-museums-upcoming-agm-to-be-a-special-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Cortes Museum\u2019s upcoming AGM to be a special event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cortesmuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cortes Island Museum and Archives Society<\/a> is planning for their first in-person annual general meeting in two years, which will feature a presentation by fine art photographer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/davidellingsen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Ellingsen<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The AGM will be held at Manson\u2019s Hall on Sunday, March 27th, with doors opening at 12:30 pm. Image courtesy of Cortes Museum.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ellingsen was born and raised on Cortes, with a lineage that traces back all the way to some of the first settlers on the island. Manson's Landing is named after his great-great-grandfather.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is planning to speak about several projects, including one called <em>Falling Boundaries<\/em>, which will also be on display at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oldschoolhouseartgallerycortes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery<\/a> this summer. It explores the last century of industrial logging in British Columbia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Museum has permanent and current exhibits, as well as tourist info at its primary location at 957 Beasley Road.
