Image courtesy of Connected Coast.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Klahoose, Seaford, Manson's Landing and Whaletown are part of approximately 139 rural and remote coastal communities included in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/connectedcoast.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Connected Coast project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which is placing subsea fibre optics cable along more than 3,400 kilometres of coastal BC. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.gov.bc.ca\/releases\/2021CITZ0050-002073\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the provincial government<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the coastal subsea network will be one of the longest in the world, reaching all the way to Haida Gwaii and around Vancouver Island. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project is a joint venture between the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/srd.ca\/connected-coast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strathcona Regional District<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citywest.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CityWest telecommunications<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CityWest regional manager Dino Tsakonas shared the latest details for this next local phase of installation.
