The People\u2019s Budget is the first of its kind in Canada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Laurel Albina, an organizer with the Defund 604 Network, and Meenakshi Mannoe, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pivotlegal.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PIVOT Legal Society<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, speak about the need to raise \u201cissues related to the criminalization of poverty. The way that people who are homeless are treated in the city, the way that people who use drugs are targeted.
