Hilel Ontario is a Jewish student organization that works to engage students and young adults through campus initiatives with a focus on embracing the Jewish identity.<\/p>\n
This week, Hilel created installations on Ryerson campus showcasing the history of the Holocaust, relevant topics and highlighting the role of women \u2013 something that the organization wanted to do differently this year.<\/p>\n
The installations were set up to first inform individuals about the Holocaust, as well providing relevant information on particular topics surrounding women.<\/p>\n
This includes women who were part of the resistance movement against the Nazis in various countries across Europe, and life under occupation.<\/p>\n
Due to the in-person limitations this year during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hillel organized online events from speakers within the Toronto Jewish community and testimonies from Holocaust survivors.<\/p>\n
The theme of this year's Holocaust education week is Holocaust distortion, myths and misinformation.<\/p>\n
