The\u00a0Eldon + Anne Foote\u00a0Edmonton\u00a0Visual Arts Prize\u00a0has recognized outstanding artists from the Edmonton region for the past 10 years.<\/p>\n
The Art Gallery of St. Albert is hosting an exhibit of their work in association with the\u00a0Visual Arts Prize to mark the anniversary.<\/p>\n
In Good Company\u00a0<\/i>brings together seven unique artists from across disciplines who are connected by the shared prize experience. The three most recent award winners, Lauren\u00a0Crazybull, aAron\u00a0Munson\u00a0and\u00a0Gillian Willans, join the artists on the 2021 award short list,\u00a0Emmanuel Osahor, duo\u00a0Sharon Rose Kootenay\u00a0and\u00a0Jason Symington, and this year\u2019s prize recipient,\u00a0Preston Pavlis, who was awarded $6,000 for the win.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the artists I talked to were honored and touched to be recognized by the Edmonton Arts community as part of their award process,\" said curator Emily Baker. \u201cThey all have the similar feelings of gratitude and a little bit of surprise and really feeling seen for their incredible work that was created on their own terms.\u201d<\/p>\n
The exhibit can be seen at the Art Gallery of St. Albert on Tuesdays to Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 to 5 p.m. until Feb. 5th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n Listen to our full report for more details.<\/p>\n
