She was awarded an Emerging Writer's residency at the Banff Centre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She lives on Gitxsan Territory in Northern B.C. and holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Victoria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In July of 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/scotiabankgillerprize.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scotia Bank Giller Prize<\/a> long-list of \"best fiction in Canada\" was announced with Lalonde's name included.<\/p>\n<p>Her book is a series of four short stories called\u00a0<em>Glorious, Frazzled Beings<\/em> and it is a beguiling story collection, a love song to the homes we make, keep and break.<\/p>\n<p>CICK News spoke to Lalonde about how life in the north dictates her characters' decisions and perspectives as well as good book recommendations for \"nesting season.\"<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to Pamela Haasen's interview with Angelique Lalonde below:<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang\u00e9lique Lalonde is a B.C. writer whose work has been featured in PRISM International, the Journey Prize Anthology, Room and the Malahat Review, among other publications.
